It's always nice to read the comments in our visitor book left by guests who've stayed in the pigeonnaire.
Not every guest leaves a comment but out of those who have it's been very warming to hear how they've enjoyed their stay.
The authentic restoration always gets a mention, the stunning scenery is another that's high on the list of likes but the single thing (or should that be the two things?) that occupies the most column inches is Hector and Cookie.
Almost without exception, all of our guests have written a paragraph or two about they've been kept entertained.
Hector is an 8 year old pedigree black labrador who came over with us in October 2004 aged 17 months. He's a bit slow and sedate now but still he's got a twinkle in his eye and is great fun.
He'll greet you with a bark when you arrive and come and lie below the terrace of the pigeonnaire, just happy to have you around.
Hector's fantastic with children and great company all round and loves to go for a walk with the guests (even showing them the way on our very private little route where we live).
When you first arrive at the pigeonnaire, Cookie will be there to greet you and before you've even set foot out of the car she'll drop her toy for you to throw; you are instantly Cookie's friend whether you like it or not.
Cookie is just a whirlwind and will want to play with you all day and seems to melt everyone's heart.
Cookie's got the sweetest of personalities, she's great with children and just fun.
